Google is taking legal action against a Chinese cybercrime network that used its Gemini AI model to create phishing websites and automate scam campaigns. The group, Outsider Enterprise, operated through Telegram and offered phishing-as-a-service to individuals. Google worked with telecommunications companies to block malicious text messages and noted that its on-device scam detection feature likely helped reduce successful phishing attempts.
