Researchers at UCLA developed MANANA, a framework that helps LLMs adapt to local clinical practices in low-resource settings, improving pediatric epilepsy treatment decisions. MANANA uses a 'field journal' approach to learn from past mistakes and provide uncertainty-based deferral signals. This approach improved visit-level top-3 prescription accuracy by 4-8 percentage points.
